You can create posts that are mainly galleries of images. You just have to select "Gallery" from the "Format" menu on the right-hand side of the Edit Post page.

You can also post single images that, when clicked on, expand to show a larger image. To do this, simply select "Image" from the "Format" right-hand menu when editing/creating your post.
